Technological Innovation

Technological Innovation

Technology is the combination of processes, tools, machines, and technological processes utilized in the creation of goods and services or in the achievement of specific goals, like scientific development. In today’s world, technology has become an integral part of everyday life, including how we communicate, work, and live. In fact, one out of every five people use some form of technology to carry on with their day to day activities. Technology can also be defined as the collection of knowledge or information possessed by a human being that enables him or her to interact with other persons. This knowledge or information can be either tangible or intangible.

A good example of technology is the telephone. Without the invention of the telephone, most people would still be communicating through letters or telegrams. Similarly, most people would still be using drawings and paintings to depict and explain the physical properties of things. While technological developments are bound to continue apace, there is also much scope for continuing the expansion of the practical sciences.

One of the areas in which there has been considerable expansion is in computer science. People nowadays have more than one way to perform complex calculations and to solve problems, thanks to the numerous technologies that have been developed over time. Some of these technological developments were initiated as simple ideas that were later taken up by others. The most important ones include the electronic and digital revolution, the computer, microprocessor, the Internet, and more. Others, like mobile communication technologies, are still in their developmental stages.

As already mentioned earlier, one of the expanding fields in which technological development has had a profound impact is in the area of information technology. Ever since the introduction of i-Tec, the possibilities for digital technologies have greatly expanded. Aside from the traditional computer, now people use mobile phones, digital signage, televisions, radios, and many other electronic devices. Digital technologies are even increasingly used in many aspects of business and corporate communications.

Another expanding area in which technological innovations are taking place is the information technology sector. There are many exciting things happening in this tech sector, especially in the wireless domain. For example, Bluetooth is a technology that uses radio waves to communicate with electronic devices. In addition, Wi-Fi is another widely used wireless technology that couples a laptop or tablet computer with a network adapter and a wireless router. Some organizations are using mobile devices such as Blackberry and iPhone to access wireless networks and to make Internet connections faster.

Technological change and innovation have reshaped many aspects of our lives. We no longer live in a world where everything is handed to us on a platter. Rather, we must learn to take appropriate action in order to solve problems. This task may come in the form of either scientific research or industrial objective. Scientific research deals with the extraction of new knowledge about how to solve the problem; whereas, industrial objective focuses on the creation of new material used to solve an organizational problem.
